English Turkish English Translations About Me
I used to work fulltime for translation agencies and Notary Publics up until 2 years ago. Now I am semi-retired and take on translation jobs via the internet, receiving the texts to be translated by e-mail or Messenger, and delivering the translated texts in the same manner. If and when necessary, this can be done also by courier or swift surface mail/cargo if scanning proves to be difficult or unwise. For some years prior to my semi-retirement, I also accepted consecutive and simultaneous translation assignments for Conferences, Congresses, Business Meetings and the like. This is just by way of saying how fluent my English is. Yes, this is also to say that I was born and raised in Turkey, but I have also lived in the U.K. (mostly in London) for many years, as well as in Germany and Belgium for a year or two. My German and French is just enough to get by on, but not good enough for translations. Presently I live in Turkey, which is my home country anyway. During the years that I have been translating and interpreting from English into Turkish and vice versa, I don't think that there are many subjects that I did not translate under this sun or the sky.
When colleagues ask me if translating from Turkish into English is more difficult than translating from English into Turkish, my answer is that, as I can think both in Turkish and in English as the case requires, both comes to me as natural as breathing in-and-out
